Four seasons

For Sam's scrapbook. I thought it would be fun to record the 'view from his window' throughout the seasons. So this is a record of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, I have tried to take the photo from the same position each time.
~~~~~~~~~~
Off to see DANCING ON ICE tonight - will report back tomorrow!
Have a great weekend everyone (think of me I'm at work!)
Florida memories.
We have just been to get the brochures for Florida, we loved it so much, we are planning to go back next year. We are going with Lorraine, Kuno and Ross again, but we are also going with 2 friends and their 2 kids who have never been before.
Rip Saw Falls, as pictured above - is somewhere I will NOT be!! I hate big drops, especially WET ones!!
Wedding front cover.
The ceremony took place in a sunken stone courtyard, we were surrounded by all the flowers shown. (I'm sure everyone thought I was mad - wanting photo's of the flowers - but I knew what I had planned)
This was one of my very first layouts.
Sam at Three.
This is a paper scrapbook page from the album I am doing for him.
As I had loads of photo's and found it difficult to pick, I decided on a this style - to get as many as possible on the page. On a few photo's I have added 'rub-on' sentiments.
Swimming coach.
Cyprus, September 2003.
The year Sam came home from holiday - as a confident swimmer.
This is a 12x12" paper page.
Basic blue cardstock as a background - stamped with sea shells, in blue ink.
Blue and white paper patterned paper down the left hand side.
Yellow cardstock - colour taken from the umbrellas by the side of the pool.
Red card stock 'quotes' (confidence, launch, competitive and coach)- colour taken from Sam's trunks.
Finished with pale blue brads and buttons.
I love the pictures of him jumping in.
Eeyore
While we were in Florida we had our photo taken with LOTS of characters! But Eeyore was our favourite!
Scrapped using Hot off the Press 8x8" papers. Stickers and rub on stitches.
I wish I was there!!
Almost a year ago now, but are planning to return in 2009!! Yippee!!
Paper scrapping 8"x8": I used 'cloud/sky' background paper, orange cardstock to mat and layer (I liked the colour combination - sea/sun). I offset 1 photo - rather than have them all straight. I added cardstock stickers and 3D embellishments, 'Heidi' MM rub-on letters in white and used vellum for my journalling (attached with blue MM brads).
Friends.
Cyprus - September 2003. This was taken during our holiday in Cyprus, we spent 2 weeks there, with a bunch of friends and we got married while we were out there. Great - we got married at 2pm and by 4pm we were swimming in the pool again. (I will post a wedding layout shortly!)
It was actually a double celebration, as our friends, Burt & Lisa, got married at the same time.
The holiday went so quickly, we did lots of sightseeing, lots of swimming and lots of eating and drinking - as we were all inclusive for the 2 weeks!! (well it would be rude not to!)
The layout - is again traditional paper scrapping- I used pattern papers, cardstock to mat and layer the photo, ribbons, epoxy stickers, I cut sizzix tags and used Making Memories large foam stamps to create the title and chalked the edges. The names at the top were created using Word Art, printed on vellum and attached with brads.
Fireworks!!
My lovely husband bought me the Canon IXUS 750 for my 'milestone' birthday last year, which has a setting especially for taking 'fireworks'. So while we were in Florida last year, we went to the Spectro Magic Firework display at Magic Kingdom - what a spectacular and emotional experience. I took about 40 shots (without a tripod!) and used my favorites to create the following layouts. They are 8x8" on black cardstock. I used an eyelet punch to makes holes, to continue the shape of the fireworks and then added yellow and red card behind to emphasise the colours of the fireworks. And just couldn't resist adding Tinkerbell - as at the actual display she starts things rolling. (A real live Tinkerbell flew across on a wire - amazing!)
Have hands! Will use them!
Sam at the age of 3 painting, well with his hands! He had so much fun, he was completely covered - but just look at that face!
Sam is almost 11 now - but this only feels like yesterday - and yet he starts at senior school in September!
I have made him a Scrapbook of his life - right from when he was born - to this day - and hope to keep it going until he is 18.
I have tried to avoid just putting Christmas, Birthday and Holiday photos. Instead I have included things like this - a day painting. I have also included a day at the seaside with Nanny and Grandad (Grandad is no longer with us - so it is nice for him to look back on) I also want to do things like - a page of his favorite things at different ages, including: food, books, TV programmes, games, shoes etc. He is helping me put the pages together. (I'm sure he thinks I'm barking mad! but he will look back in 10 years and understand why!) The last page in the book is going to be his family tree.
This page is traditional paper scrapbooking, I have used pattern papers, cardstock to mat and layer the photos (picking out the yellow of his apron), a paper punch for the little hands (to mimic his hands) and a MM metal word eyelet and a wire word 'giggle'. The title/base card stock was something a picked up a show a couple of years ago, as I thought it would be perfect for this sort of layout.
