Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist.

Review: Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist

I have been using this software for a week or so now and I can highly recommend it. I have tried a couple of 'specialist' digital scrapping style softwares before and to be honest they have been typically digital, very basic and produce clumsy, outdated looking pages. This software is a real breath of fresh air, you can produce perfect pages, that to an untrained eye - would look identical to a traditional paper scrapped page.

The software itself is extremely well thought out and very easy to use, ideally for the beginner but challenging enough for the more experienced user. It comes complete with several pages packs and a bonus disc of even more themes (more are available), all very useful and cover a variety of occasions and they can be used as individual elements. There is also a daisytrail website, where you can share ideas) The best bit is: you can use ALL of your already downloaded digital items (just use them in the photo's tab). The software is a bargain at £29.99, but several craft mag's have a voucher for a further £5 off at the moment.

Tracy and Sally have already been affected by the bug, so beware it is infectious. Check them out because they have produced some great first LO's. You maybe wondering why my LO's are a strange size. Well that's because I have produced them to fit in my Digital Photo frame, that I got for Christmas, they look fab!

Have a great weekend. Any questions? please ask, if I can help I will!

Charity Netball Match

Meet the guys and girls I work with, last night we held a Charity Netball Match. It was a 'girls v boys' match - with the boys wearing pink fluffy tutu's!! We had a great night, but it was freezing cold. Only Earl (our Company mascot) was warm!
It was all in aid of LIVES and we raised £150.

It's moving day for Mum tomorrow, please don't rain!!

Ohhh and my Glitter Pot delivery arrived today - can't wait to play - just need to find time!

My son is currently running around the room screaming and shouting, his beloved Chelsea have just scored a 95th minute 'away' goal in the Champions League!! with only seconds to go......Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1.

First Watercolour....

This is Sam's (age 11) first attempt at a watercolour painting
(Art homework!)
He had some advice from me and Uncle Kuno, but no help,
he finished it all by himself.
I am so impressed!

11th March update: Sam received an A1 plus 2 housepoints for his work!

Wedding Day

Digital Scrapbooking - this will be the front slide on the TV slide show I am making for them.

Finished slide show.

Well I have finished the slide show, I showed hubby when he got home from work and it made him really emotional - lets hope it has the same effect on the bride and groom!

The show lasts for just over 8 mins and has 4 digital scrap pages scattered throughout. I have set the whole thing to 'I've had the time of my life' from the Dirty Dancing film.

Wedding Day...

Chris' cousin Bev got married on Saturday to Mark - and how lucky were they with the weather - beautiful sunny day!! The Wedding has been planned for over 2 1/2 years!! And what a day it was - superb, everything went like clockwork, Bev looking stunning.

I am just putting together a TV slide show of the photo's I have taken (well some of the 264 that I took on the day!!) and plan to use a few digi scrap pages throughout. The above will be the title page.

This is one of the lovely templates from CottageArts.net from their simply moments volume 1 CD.

Christening.....

On Sunday we went to Tom's Christening, our neighbours son.
Following a very 'energetic' service, we went back to Lee's parents house for a BBQ. Wicked BBQ - probably the best I have been to - excellent food - bouncy castle and believe it or not it was gloriously sunny!!

I knew I wanted to give them a 'different' pressie (as Tom is 2 and not a tiny baby) so I took loads of photo's of him and his elder sister Abbie and then spent the evening making a digital scrapbook page and framed it for them. (The base colours used are some of Anne's favourites)
Digital layout again from the wonderful Helen Bradley book.

Bye Bye Maynard!

Mini mania.....it's time to say goodbye to Maynard! Well actually he's already gone (I'm using Chris' car)...and I have to wait another 3 weeks for the new one....it's due off the production line 19th May.

I'm not telling you what colour.....stay tuned and I'll post some photo's when he arrives....'it' might even have a name by then.

'Maynard' came from black and red midget gems - made by Maynard - as the car was all black and red (even inside).

Digital Scrapbooking - recommended book.

If you are new to Digital Scrapbooking - this book is a MUST have.
Written by Helen Bradley - Layouts for Scrapbooking. Ilex press :
ISBN-10 1-904705-99-5. or ISBN-13 978-1-904705-99-4. I bought mine from www.play.com for £9.99 free P&P.
It is a 96 page hardback book, which comes complete with a CD. On the CD you get 50 page templates (just add photos) and 250 ready to use decorative objects - for when you get the hang of things. The book is based around Adobe Elements 4. But can be used with other editing suites. The 2 baby layouts on this blog are made using this book. And I can highly recommend it!!

It's been a real baby boom at work.....Debs had a little girl Imogen and Matt's wife Sally had a baby boy Joseph. It must be an epidemic because we still have more to arrive in the next few weeks! Watch this space.
